Forensic Imagery Analysis
It is important to review the original scene imagery so that the geographic location of the target subject can be determined.
If it is possible to determine a measured height it will usually be within a tolerance of a few centimetres or an inch. At best an interpolated height can be determined but will not be as accurate.
If the target subject is seen within the imagery standing as straight as possible, with both their head and feet clearly visible, it is possible that a survey can be conducted, although it is important to note that the target subject must be within a reasonable distance from the recordings camera.
For a comparison of the imagery to be performed, a recording of the reconstruction/height survey must be downloaded so that it can be used for comparison purposes. It is therefore important that the fixtures and fittings have not been changed and the recording system is serviceable.
